The 28th PanCare meeting was held from 12 – 14 October 2022 in Budapest, Hungary. The meeting offered an interactive programme with interesting presentations on various aspects of long-term follow-up and survivorship care, as well as widening collaboration (twinning, transition of care, support organisations). Before the main meeting, there were also sessions for the 5th PanCare Educational Day and parallel sessions for survivors, nurses and other allied health care professionals active in transition care.
In the programme, there was a general update on the PanCareFollowUp project from Heleen van der Pal (PMC, PanCare), as well as a presentation from Eline Bouwman (RUMC) on ‘Perceived barriers and facilitators to health behaviours in European childhood cancer survivors: a qualitative PanCareFollowUp study’ and Saskia Pluijm (PMC) on ‘The PanCareFollowUp Lifestyle intervention: development of the intervention, protocol and update on the study inclusion’. Saskia Pluijm (PMC) also presented a workshop ‘Healthy living after childhood cancer – Workshop on the importance of a healthy lifestyle for survivors of childhood cancer and how to integrate lifestyle information and support in long-term follow-up care in European Long-Term Follow-Up care for childhood cancer survivors’.
